Loss of Sense of Smell. — This may be caused by blows or falls, inhalations of pungent vapors or irritating substances, or it may be the result of chronic catarrh[1] or of certain forms of paralysis. Treatment has been very unsatisfactory.[1] Catarrh is the inflammation of mucous membranes in cavities of the body.
